Now for pictures
I bought the heli used off of the Canadian Heli flying champion, Scott Gray. This heli is fully blinged. A lot of custom modifications done.
An awesome paint job done on the canopy.
I've bought a spare canopy as a replacement in case the unthinkable happened. There's a lot of work involved in painting a canopy so it's better to have one in reserve just in case.
Unlike the previous helis, this heli uses push-pull systems throughout. With huge servo wheels all around.
The engine is a special "limited" edition O.S. 90 with Hyper Head. This engine has a serial number "003" on it. A truly unique engine.
The head is much beefier than the head on the Voyager 50. Pretty much everything is either steel or aluminum. Not much plastic in here.
The extended servo tray, barely fits into the canopy. It's a tight fight as it is.
The "Team JR" sticker adorns the tail boom. Unfortunately it'll unlikely survive the first "accident".
Reinforced tail fin, you can barely see it but it's there. Prevents damaging vibration.
Can't have a powerful heli without Kurti's Muscle Pipe. I hear that engines are a pain to setup with this pipe, but well worth it in the end.
Apparently this heli has a fan mod that makes it sound "different" in flight. Not sure what that entitles, will definitely find out during the spring fun fly when I get a chance to compare it to other helis.
You can see the new JR6000T gyro. Apparently is quite a step up from the 5000T. With incredibly fast response time it's supposed to eliminate tail wagging.
The ultra high speed servo needs to compliment the high speed Gyro. It drives a rather thick carbon rod which in turn drives the tail.
The sensor for the Futaba GV-1 governor can be seen here. Setting up the governor's gonna be a task and a half. I've never done it before.
A closer look at the electronics tray. The governor and the gyro amplifier can be seen here. A hefty 2700mAh NiMh battery pack drives the system. The heli came without a receiver but I already secured a 9 channel JR receiver shortly after I bought the heli.
The plastic tail boxes is only one of very few plastic items on the heli.
The carbon fibre tail stab is not a stock item, will have to see if I can preorder another one as a spare.
The heli uses fly bar weights for more stable control. Will prolly take em out at some point to get more response. I think for now i'll leave them, I expect this heli to be much more responsive than the 50 even with them on.
The Hyper Head clearly visible here. I've never operated an engine with a built in pump. Will need to learn :)
The main gear can be seen here. Unlike my previous helis this one has a wire driven tail where the Voyager and Venture were belt driven.
