My keyboard mod (by Black Thunder)
I've seen keyboard mods floating around the web. Most of them consists of only the LED mod which is a no brainer and takes few minutes. Adding a back-light to a keyboard is another story. Even tho the EL (Electro-Luminescent) Cable is thin (less than 2mm) it is rather bulky for the insides of the keyboard. But with the help of super-glue and a soldering iron (for melting/shaping the plastic), few hours of sweating and praying that the keyboard works you have a very nice back-lit keyboard.

Now for some pictures
I've had to completely take the keyboard appart, including ripping out the buttons. In order to get the cable properly
I've assembled most of the keys back to what they were.
You can see the EL Cable inverter here. It takes in 12V DC and produces around 1000V @ 160Hz
I've installed a small plug for the inverter so that I can hook up power to the keyboard whenever I need it without unsightly cables when I don't need it.
Series of pictures of the completed keyboard at night. Not as bright as I wanted it but good enough for now. I gotta figure out what's the maximum voltage allowed on the EL Cable and may boost it in the future.
